1800's ERA PRIMITIVE PRAIRIE DOLL *EMMA JANE*

Prairie Rag Doll Emma Jane

Emma Jane is 24 inches in height, she is lightly weighted and will sit nicely anywhere you care to place her.

Emma is made out of lightly hand dyed woven cotton, she is stuffed with both polyfil and rag strips to give her a old Rag Doll feel.  Her features are hand painted in a water color tecnique, I also applied a spray presuritive to keep her features for years to come.

Emma's hair is dyed flax which came out of an old Mill in Uxbridge, Massachusetts.  I have hand stitched her hair to her head and tied part of it up with dyed grocers string.  Emma Jane has separately hand stitched fingers and her hands cup nicely to hold her cat doll on her lap.

Emma Jane is wearing a prairie dress made out of fine cotton calico, I have hand made the bias around the neckline out of the same material and also added ruffles to the sleeves.  Over her dress is a hand dyed and worn looking prairie apron that ties in the back.  The wide brimmed prairie bonnet and matching pantaloons are made from fine, soft mustard designer flannel.  Emma's dark brown herringbone shoes are completely hand stitched and also made out of the best flannel.

Kitty Cat is made out of black woven cotton, she has shoe button eyes and a hand stitched face and is Sooooo Cute.
